SHAUN GLADWELL - Perpetual 360° Sessions
31 Aug 2011
Perpetual 360° Sessions
Schunck*, Heerlen, The Netherlands
3 September - 27 November, 2011
SCHUNCK* is proud to present an extensive overview of Shaun Gladwell's thrilling and exciting oeuvre. In his films, performances, installations and photography, Gladwell critically and poetically links personal experience with contemporary subcultures. Gladwell's works engage a diversity of urban expressions, such as skateboarding, hip-hop, bmx bike riding, break-dancing and, most recently, extreme sports such as 'car surfing'. Often performing his own stunts, Gladwell refers to popular culture and extreme sports via references to art history and his native Australia landscape.
On the occasion of the exhibition a catalogue will be published, compiled by Shaun Gladwell.
