With street art as starting point, the I/legítimo exhibition calls attention to the processes through which art works and artists are, on one hand, illegitimate, and on another hand placed within a museum context, alongside so called 'legitimate' art.
The exhibition's purpose is to discuss the mechanisms that lifted graffiti, sticker art, skate boarding, political slogans and propaganda written on the city walls from their marginal/street condition, to another context, accepted by the artistic mainstream.
