Daniel von Sturmer: Tableaux Plastique opens at Anna Schwartz Gallery
4 Apr 2008
The works in Tableaux Plastique show real objects in real time: paint being poured, string curling on a ground and squares of paper floating across a surface. The palette is reduced and the images, objects and activity parred down; precise and restrained. In this exhibition ten new works are presented as high definition videos on 40-inch LCD screens. The sequences blend painting, performance and sculpture.

Daniel von Sturmer represented Australia at the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007. This is his first exhibition since Venice.
