A new print by Rose Nolan will be launched at MUMA on Tuesday November 27, to coincide with the launch of the Artists' Proof #1 catalogue.

The print, You See What I'm Saying (twice over print version) is based on studio experiments undertaken in New York in 2010, and continues Rose Nolan's interest in using found text for both its formal and linguistic qualities.

The print has been produced by Warren Taylor and Trent Walter and published by Negative Press, Melbourne. A limited edition of 25 silkscreen prints is available through Negative Press and Anna Schwartz Gallery.

'Contemporary Australia: Women' celebrates the role of women artist in Australian art. The new and recent work on display explores themes such as the idea that one performs femininity or performs as a woman; the place of personal and intimate spheres - such as sexuality, the body, motherhood and ageing; the return to everyday and domestic materials; and the way some women artists are redressing the canon of painting.

Rose Nolan will present new work in The Solo Projects, at the VCA Margaret Lawrence Gallery, as part of the 2011 Melbourne International Arts Festival.

The Solo Projects returns to Melbourne Festival with a mischievous rebellion against the conformity of the everyday, drawing together an array of new works by two international forces of the European-inspired avant garde: German Andreas Exner and Melbourne-based Rose Nolan.

The exhibition opens on 13 October, and runs from 14 October to 12 November 2011.
