The Wesfarmers Collection is amongst the pre-eminent corporate collections of Australian Art and reflects the vision of successive Managing Directors in developing and supporting such a major artistic resource. The contemporary area of this distinguished Collection is a notable strength and it is this aspect which the exhibition highlights. |

Work by Dale Frank will be included in Vibrant Matter, TarraWarra Museum of Art, Victoria, 20 April - 16 June 2013.
Drawing predominantly from the TWMA collection, Vibrant Matter features Australian abstract paintings and sculptures from the past six decades which resonate with a vital materiality. The selected works incorporate formal invention, experiments in process and use of new materials, highlighting the myriad ways in which abstraction can powerfully convey complex ideas and feelings including: spiritual and metaphysical concepts and experiences; hidden correspondences and rhythms lying beneath outward appearances; elemental structures and forms; numinous experiences; and psychological transformation. |

Work by Dale Frank is included in Mix Tape 1980s: Appropriation, Subculture, Critical Style at the National Gallery of Victoria, 11 April - 1 September 2013.
The exhibition explores a decade of dynamic change in contemporary art and culture, from appropriation and sampling in painting and music to the DIY aesthetics of post-punk music, art and fashion; and from postmodern critiques of history, authorship and originality to postcolonial revisions of Australian history and identity. |
