Melbourne-based Fusinato explores rhetorics of extremism in art, music, and politics. For his shocking installation Aetheric Plexus, encroaching visitors trigger a huge sound-and-lighting rig that blasts them with 13,000 watts of blinding white light (as if they were the performer) and 105 decibels of deafening white noise.

Drawings from Marco Fusinato's Mass Black Implosion series will feature in V.A., an exhibition curated by artist Dylan Martorell. The exhibition brings together works by artists who are influenced by or incorporate music into their practice, including John Nixon, Dylan Martorell, Michael Graeve, Tarquin Manek, Victor Meertens, and Mat Valdman.

V.A. will take place at Utopian Slumps, Ground Floor, 33 Guildford Lane Melbourne, from Saturday 17 September to Saturday 8 October 2011.
